Hours & Shifts:

We are looking to hire one person to alternate shifts with our team for 5-6 days per week. Your shift will be a morning shift from 7:00 am till 12 pm. You have to be available to cover every other weekend, as well as, your chosen week day morning shifts. You are responsible for opening the store.

This is a Full-time Permanent position.

Your Role:

As a Head Barista, you are the face of our brand and thus, we are looking for someone that is passionate about what we stand for and do and is a people’s person. You must be a coffee lover and have experience in dialing every morning. Knowing latte art is advantageous. As you will be serving our food, a passion for health and eating well is encouraged. As a Barista your duties are:

● Dialing in coffee every morning
● Preparing coffee and herbal drinks to the highest standard and quality
● Making our handcrafted infusions and latte powders from scratch
● Doing inventory of bar items and packaging
● Complete opening checklists according to standards
● Appropriately greet and welcome all customers that enter the store and keep them engaged
● Listen and communicate with customers effectively, explain our products and any allergy concerns, provide details of our concept/company (you will be trained)
● Direct customers to products, be confident in making product recommendations (always bonus if you’re passionate about healthy food and eat what you preach, it shows!)
● Prioritise customers to avoid unnecessary waiting times
● Serving customers at till point and carrying out card transactions
● Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks such as coffee, herbal teas and speciality beverages
● Answering incoming calls
● Checking catering online orders and communicating with the kitchen
● Work efficiently and speedily to serve during times allowed
● Cleaning and sanitising work and display counter areas, utensils and equipment
● Servicing and cleaning seating area (we only have 2 small tables to service, which seats 4-6 maximum)
● Tracking stock supply and replenishing items during day shift and communicate with bakery
● Be present, calm, confident, joyful as you serve!
● Help to develop a high performing barista/counter team, ensuring staff understand their responsibilities and providing them with supervision, training and support
● Keep equipment working by following operating instructions, carrying out preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting breakdowns
● Maintain a safe, hygienic and presentable work environment, following approved operating procedures, food safety guidelines and health and safety regulations
● Help to develop a high performing barista/serving team, ensuring fellow employees understand their responsibilities and providing them with supervision, training and support
● Keep equipment working by following operating instructions, carrying out preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting breakdowns
● Maintain a safe, hygienic and presentable work environment, following approved operating procedures, food safety guidelines and health and safety regulations

What is required of you:

● Available for your week day shifts
● Available for weekend shifts, every other week
● Punctual, reliable, well-organised and focused
● Previous work experience as a Barista essential
● Customer service experience is essential - you have to be a people person!
● Hands-on experience operating beverage equipment
● Non-smoker and presentable
● Fluent in English (written and spoken)
● Emotionally intelligent and an effective communicator
● High level of attention-to-detail
● Ability to remain calm under pressure and stay focused and organised as you multitask
● You are able to work independently without close supervision
● Physically fit and energetic! You have to be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time and lift boxes and stretch
● Confident to train new members of staff
● Have a basic food hygiene certificate (or be prepared to get one)
● Have and present the correct right to work documents for working in the UK to be employed
