We are located in East Sheen, SW14, and will be opening a second venue in Hampton Wick, KT1, later in 2023. Please take note of travel distance when applying.

We are seeking a full time Shop Manager who will be responsible for the overall running of the designated La Ciclista venue during open hours, including opening (1/2 hour prior to open doors) and closing (1 hour after closing doors).

The Shop Manager is the main point of contact for all deliveries, queries and customer interaction during open hours. They are authorised to make informed decisions where required, and/or seek advice from Senior Management when necessary or in doubt.

The Shop Manager will ensure all other staff working in the venue maintain the expected level of professionalism regarding high standards of service and cleanliness. They will lead by example, train and oversee other newer members of staff until competent to work unassisted, on food as well as hot beverages.

The Shop Manager is expected to show initiative in all areas: customer interaction (including dealing with any complaints); keeping the premises clean and in good working order; acting professionally towards other staff (including social interactions); being responsible and conscientious when taking breaks/finishing shifts.

The online course Certification of Level 1 Food Hygiene will be provided by the employer and must be completed within one month of commencing work. This is imperative for the handling of all food and beverages.

Senior Management and the Shop Manager will maintain regular contact on day-to-day matters, and will hold monthly meetings to address relevant issues as well as discuss updates.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Opening and closing of venue (key holder)
• Rota management
• Stock check and ordering from suppliers
• Checking accuracy of deliveries vs invoices
• Preparing and serving of all food and beverages
• Ensuring coffee machine/grinder is operated/cleaned by properly trained staff only
• Cleaning and sanitising premises
• Ensuring all food/beverage preparation areas are always kept in pristine working order
• Managing and overseeing sales and till usage by staff
• Keeping up to date on H&S matters
• Managing junior staff, including delegation of tasks
• Acting as Delegated Premises Supervisor for any alcohol sales
• Notifying Senior Management of issues that require their attention
• Updating and rotating displays in venue
• Contributing ideas towards improving and growing the business
• Representing and maintaining the values and high standards of La Ciclista at all times
• Event management
• Social media updates

Other responsibilities to be agreed upon successful completion of probation period.

Total hours per week (not all necessarily on site) approx 35-40, to cover week days and weekends. Benefits offered as part of full time salaried position. Hospitality experience preferred.
