The Cafe Coordinator is a hands-on role, responsible for running the social epicentre of our Workspace within County Hall, the cafe. It is therefore an opportunity to get to know our members incredibly well and ensure an exemplary member experience through the provision of excellent food and drinks.
You will have a background likely in a cafe and thrive in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment. You will act as our primary barista, making a range of drinks for members throughout the day, as well as during quieter spells covering a range of operational duties, including stock control/ordering and general operational support across the team. You will also be responsible for our simple food offering across breakfast and lunch and will have creative freedom in this area.
This is a dynamic role, with lots of time spent on feet. This person will initially start with us on the 3rd Floor at County Hall where we host over 500 members, then moving to the 5th Floor at County Hall later this year, where we will host over 1000 members. There will therefore be the opportunity for expanded responsibilities over the course of this year.
It is an excellent entry-level opportunity to join the business at an exciting stage of growth, build substantial expertise in hospitality and cafe operations, whilst immersing yourself in an ecosystem of business all looking to have a positive impact on the world.
Person Specification
Key requirements:
- Barista experience, able to make a range of drinks
- Some food prep experience to deliver a basic offering
- Experience in a customer-facing / hospitality role
- Happy to spend lots of time on feet, this is a physical role
- People-person who thrives on ensuring customers are having a good experience
- Problem solver and highly adaptable
- Ability to maintain a smile, no matter the challenge
